Andelyn's Blessing

This Sunday was Andelyn's blessing day. It was such a wonderful day! We were so grateful to have our families and friends over to celebrate her special day. Vagner was so nervous about giving his first official blessing in English. He did such a great job it was a beautiful blessing I am so proud of him! We are so excited for the life of our little one, we are so blessed to have her. Andelyn was blessed in the dress that was made for me when I was blessed. It was made by my Grandma Roberts from the same material that was made from my mom's wedding dress, so that was pretty neat. Thanks for everyone's love and support!

The Young & the Restless

This post is a thank you to all of my sweet friends! Andelyn has been having a hard time sleeping just about every night from 2 t0 5 in the morning and it just left me absolutely exhausted!!! All of my friends have just had babies so, I decided to text all of my close girl friends to see what in the world I could do to help her sleep better at night. I was immediately flooded with text messages, e-mails, and phone calls. What wonderful friends I have! In the end pretty much the advice I got was just ...hang in there... and that is what we have been doing. I know that Andelyn is still super young, but I was super tired. I would love to report that Andelyn has done extremely well this week (as well as a newborn can do:) ) We sure love her even if we don't get all of our beauty sleep.

Thanks Girls!! I sure do love ya!!

P.S. I am always open for advice, so if anyone has baby secrets- please share the wealth

Andelyn

I know, I know.... We have been slacking on our blogging, not because of a lack of things to report, but quite the opposite. We have been INCREDIBLY busy, but in a good and wonderful way. Well our biggest news is that our beautiful little girl has arrived. Andelyn was born on Sunday October 11th @ 5:06 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz. and she looks like she really did come straight from Heaven. We are so overwhelmed with love and excitement to have her. She is only 6 days old, but they have been absolutely wonderful!! Thank you so much to all those who have been such a big help, from moving in, to getting adjusted, to help with our open house, baby showers, baby, and just for your love and support! We are so lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives from all different corners of the world. We feel so blessed in so many ways.

Celebrate!

This is how we celebrate getting our Visa, by going to Christ the Redeemer. For our interview we had to go to Rio de Janeiro and even though it was a pain to have to travel just so that someone could give us a piece of paper saying that we could finally go to the United States, it was worth it. Especially when you get have a view like this one!
See ya on Wednesday (by the way that is in 3 days)

ALRIGHT already!!!

Well as much as I LOVE to take pictures of myself, I understand that I need to take atleast a few while I am pregnant. And...since everyone is on my case to put some pregnant pictures on here, here you go, to everyone who wants to see my belly :) Andelyn is definitely growing fast, but atleast I can still see my toes.

Confirmed!!!

We had our regular monthly check up and our little girl is definitely on her way! We are so excited. The baby and I are doing great! We got another 10! We had the big ultra-sound and the doctor said everything is looking perfect and functioning just right. We got to see all of her little fingers and toes, heart, and she definitely has her daddy's nose. She's a little over a pound and the doctors were even a little surprised that she is EXACTLY at all of her target points even to the exact date. Woohoo! Andelyn sure moves a lot, but of course she never kicks when her dad is around.
What can ya do?

Our baby GIRL!!!!

Our Baby....

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!
We just found out that our baby is going to be a GIRL, and her daddy couldn't be happier! Our doctor told us that on a scale from 1-10 the baby and I are a 10 he said that we couldn't be more perfect than we are. So what more could we ask for? She was doing sommersaults in my belly during the ultra-sound, but the doctor got a clear shot and said there was no question. We are happy and excited to add yet ANOTHER girl to the Roberts' line. We're all about continuing family traditions! Congrats Grandpa Brett! Your next little girl is on the way!

It's never too late for the Lord

Well this weekend was a very wonderful and rewarding weekend! We had the opportunity to go to the South to see Vagner's mom get married and baptized. This is a day that we have been waiting for for so long.
When Vagner was first baptized in 2003 his mom told him she didn't want anything to do with the church and even told him that if he joined he would have to leave home. Well, even though he knew what he had to do it was very hard on him because he loved his mom. When Vagner decided to serve a mission the situation got even worse. With no support from his mom and being the only member in his family he went off to do the Lord's work. Vagner faithfully wrote his mom every week, in return he only received about 5 letters at the most. When he got home from his mission his two brothers and sister who were of baptism age were baptized. Yet, his mom was still not ready to be baptized, however, Vagner never left without hope. What a wonderful day it was when Vagner's mom called to say she was going to be baptized. I have never seen Vagner so excited. We of course knew we had to go to support her. On April 24th Vagner had the long awaited and wonderful opportunity to baptize his mom.
Like Nikki and grandma well put it, maybe there are reasons that visa's are delayed. I guess the Lord really does always know what he is doing!

Vagner...you play soccer with your FEET!!!

Well, anyone who knows my husband knows that he LOVES to play soccer. It doesn't matter what kind of pain he is in, he is always there bright and early for a good game. However, this time it might slow him down a little bit. This last month he has been complaining because his wrist has really been bothering him. This week was the last straw when he fell on top of his wrist in the middle of the game. Of course he finished the game and made many goals, but after it really started to hurt. He told me he was just going to run to the doctor really quick to see if he could get something for the pain. Next thing I knew, here comes my husband with a cast from his fingers to his shoulder. (He chipped a part of his bone on his wrist). I couldn't help but give a little chuckle when he came home. He told me it was no big deal, but..... the doctor said otherwise.

Did you think a cast was going to stop him???!!!??? HA!
This was a day after he got his cast. We went to a park on Easter Saturday where he played ultimate frisbee, went biking, and rollerblading. I don't know if he is just a very determined guy or a little crazy, either way I love him. (Just a note, Vagner is back at the hospital right now to get another cast because he has already broken this one. What can ya do? I have no comment :) )

Mom in training.....

OK... before I start to explain this post first you need to know that Tia=Aunt and Tio=Uncle in Portuguese.
Aren't they cute in their Easter dresses?

Well this last week I definitely had plenty of time to train for what is coming. These two sweet little girls are Isabela and Giovana, our friends' little girls. Anyway, Andreza (their mom) is 7 months pregnant and was pretty sick the other day. Her doctor told her that she couldn't even pick up Giovana who is 1 year and 3 months old. Imagine how difficult that is when your little one is crying. Well being the good friends that we are, we offered to watch the girls for a day. Vagner of course had to work so at night I stayed with the girls. At dinner time I asked Isabela to say the prayer to bless the food. What a sweet little prayer. There was definitely no way to hold back the tears when suddenly she said, "Heavenly Father, please bless Tia Rachel and Tio Soares (Vagner) that they can go to the United States soon." I was so humbled at that moment that such a pure little thing was thinking about us and asking Heavenly Father to help us that the fountain was open and it took a while to close. I am now a lot more positive that everything will go well because with a powerful little prayer like that I know that Heavenly Father will be listening.
Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support we sure do love and appreciate all of you!

Anniversary???!!!???

Well we still haven't had a honeymoon and this is what we were doing on our one year anniversary....
I am the YW President and Vagner is in the stake YM's Presidency, so we celebrated our anniversary at youth conference :) One day I am sure we will be able to have an anniversary just the two of us.

I don't know if this video shows how much the YM love Vagner or not, but notice how many boys it took to get my man. He is definitely quick, but I guess just not quick enough. Make sure to check out this video...

Our Wedding Day

For those of you who missed our wedding (which would be every single one of you-except for my parents...) I decided to put a few of our pictures to share this wonderful day with you! It truly was the best day of our lives. We were so happy and you can tell on our faces. Although it was such a hard decision to get married so far away from those we love, it was the best decision that we made. We are so happy and so much in love. (I know it sounds corny, but it's the truth)
Anyway, if anyone wanted to know, it is quite complicated to get married in Brazil. There is so much stupid paper work. Here we practically got married three times in one day. First, in the "cartório" (which is the marriage license place) second, in the temple (because legally you have to be married civily first and the temple marriage in Brazil doesn't count), and finally, we were married and had our "reception" at our ward building. It was VERY simple, but it was PERFECT. We were so grateful that we had the miracle to have my parents and Vagner's mom there. In the end it was wonderful! I am so grateful that the Lord has blessed me with such an incredible eternal companion! How lucky we are! We love you all!!! Thank you so much for all of your support!!!

our bestest friends

These are two of our best friends Andreza and Tiago. It is incredible, Andreza and Vagner are exactly alike they could be brother and sister and Tiago and I are exactly alike too . It is so funny because we always know what Vagner and Andreza are thinking and the same with me and Tiago. (Pay attention to who are the clowns....hmmm) Andreza and Tiago have two cute little girls and are finally awaiting their little boy who is due in June. They are more than friends, they are our family. Everyone knows that we are a package deal, if someone invites us to something they know that Tiago and Andreza come along with us and vise versa. As you can see, we have so much fun together! It's always a party!!!

Did someone say BBQ??

now THIS is a barbeque!!! Watch out Utah, because I am bringing home one of the best!! This was our Christmas BBQ. Just take a look..there's beef, lamb, chicken, ribs, sausage, and something else that I don't remember. This was just for 10 people, but wow was it good. The brazilians from the south (Rio Grande do Sul) are known for their bbq's. I can definitely testify that the rumors are true-they are good. This is actually done in the ground. My husband has been promising me for a long time a bbq like this and like always he follows through with his promises.

Christmas in the South

This is a picture of Vagner and his family when we were decorating the Christmas tree. Vagner is the oldest of five kids. Starting to the right of him is his brother Emerson, Jackson, his stepdad "preto", his mom (Noedi), his little brother, Alexandre, and his sister, Lorem. Christmas was a lot of fun. Of course I missed being with my family, but atleast we were with our Brazilian family. It was very hard for us to leave, especially thinking that it is going to be a while before we see them again, but it was a happy Christmas together in the South.
