It's never too late for the Lord

Well this weekend was a very wonderful and rewarding weekend! We had the opportunity to go to the South to see Vagner's mom get married and baptized. This is a day that we have been waiting for for so long.
When Vagner was first baptized in 2003 his mom told him she didn't want anything to do with the church and even told him that if he joined he would have to leave home. Well, even though he knew what he had to do it was very hard on him because he loved his mom. When Vagner decided to serve a mission the situation got even worse. With no support from his mom and being the only member in his family he went off to do the Lord's work. Vagner faithfully wrote his mom every week, in return he only received about 5 letters at the most. When he got home from his mission his two brothers and sister who were of baptism age were baptized. Yet, his mom was still not ready to be baptized, however, Vagner never left without hope. What a wonderful day it was when Vagner's mom called to say she was going to be baptized. I have never seen Vagner so excited. We of course knew we had to go to support her. On April 24th Vagner had the long awaited and wonderful opportunity to baptize his mom.
Like Nikki and grandma well put it, maybe there are reasons that visa's are delayed. I guess the Lord really does always know what he is doing!

Vagner...you play soccer with your FEET!!!

Well, anyone who knows my husband knows that he LOVES to play soccer. It doesn't matter what kind of pain he is in, he is always there bright and early for a good game. However, this time it might slow him down a little bit. This last month he has been complaining because his wrist has really been bothering him. This week was the last straw when he fell on top of his wrist in the middle of the game. Of course he finished the game and made many goals, but after it really started to hurt. He told me he was just going to run to the doctor really quick to see if he could get something for the pain. Next thing I knew, here comes my husband with a cast from his fingers to his shoulder. (He chipped a part of his bone on his wrist). I couldn't help but give a little chuckle when he came home. He told me it was no big deal, but..... the doctor said otherwise.

Did you think a cast was going to stop him???!!!??? HA!
This was a day after he got his cast. We went to a park on Easter Saturday where he played ultimate frisbee, went biking, and rollerblading. I don't know if he is just a very determined guy or a little crazy, either way I love him. (Just a note, Vagner is back at the hospital right now to get another cast because he has already broken this one. What can ya do? I have no comment :) )

Mom in training.....

OK... before I start to explain this post first you need to know that Tia=Aunt and Tio=Uncle in Portuguese.
Aren't they cute in their Easter dresses?

Well this last week I definitely had plenty of time to train for what is coming. These two sweet little girls are Isabela and Giovana, our friends' little girls. Anyway, Andreza (their mom) is 7 months pregnant and was pretty sick the other day. Her doctor told her that she couldn't even pick up Giovana who is 1 year and 3 months old. Imagine how difficult that is when your little one is crying. Well being the good friends that we are, we offered to watch the girls for a day. Vagner of course had to work so at night I stayed with the girls. At dinner time I asked Isabela to say the prayer to bless the food. What a sweet little prayer. There was definitely no way to hold back the tears when suddenly she said, "Heavenly Father, please bless Tia Rachel and Tio Soares (Vagner) that they can go to the United States soon." I was so humbled at that moment that such a pure little thing was thinking about us and asking Heavenly Father to help us that the fountain was open and it took a while to close. I am now a lot more positive that everything will go well because with a powerful little prayer like that I know that Heavenly Father will be listening.
Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support we sure do love and appreciate all of you!
